First of all,the place is very strategic as it is in the middle of working ares.So it will be easier for working people to go there and have their lunch or their tit bits.It is nearby to UNITAR International University and the students can have their lunch as well.It is a walking distance place so it will be convenience for them.

Then,the cafe is fitted with air-conditioner which will make the customers all feel more comfortable.And I would say the deco of the café and the chairs and tables would pull the customers in.It is something different from other shops.The concept is very good,nice and uniec.

Besides that,the owner of Kedai Sebelah said that their most famous item is their lunch set,Maybe it is because some of the customers customized the menu a day before with the owner.They have a good bonding with the owner which makes them get attached with the café.

Finally,the the traditional taste of the food keep attracting the customer to the cafe.

(KEDAI SEBELAH) HOSTORICAL BACKGROUND OF THE MAIN PRODUCT

The main focus was towards pastries,cakes and beverages when the café opened earlier.As the time grows the café expands their menu to lunch and dinner set based on customer’s demand.
They have western foods like pasta,lasagne,sandwiches and starters.Besides that they also have many type of cake of their product.They also have some light Malaysian fusion foods like mee hoon,nasi lemak and nasi goreng.


But as time goes and number of customers increased,they requested for lunch set as it is located in the middle of working area.So,Mrs Bhaizurah considered about it and added lunch and dinner set.


The speciality about their lunch set is it will be different each day.The menu of the day is depends on what she feels like cooking or sometimes she asked her worker and she also will change the menu according to her customer’s request or demand.


Mrs.Bhaizurah hires few workers in order to help her in the kitchen and counter.Normally she or assigned chef will make the foods.She is very particular about the food quality and taste even her price is reasonable.She says she wants the customers to feel like home.

Kedai Sebelah is a café situated next to art gallery and workshop Kedai. Their menu changes consistently and is a good spot for woodwork lovers with a chilled out ambience. The café was established in June 2014 by Mrs.Bhaizurah.She is a former accountant.She starts her café business once she retired.His son his helping her out in managing the café. It's been her long time dream to run a café although she does not have any experience in F&B.


The idea of opening a café comes when she was catering food to some places and she felt it will be more convenience and cost-cutting if she opened up a café besides it was her long time dream.She does not want to waste her time,knowledge and most importantly she doesn’t want to be an ordinary woman who stays at home.She is very brave and independent lady who actually grabs the opportunity.


Basically the shop is made out of recycle stuffs.For 

example the chair and tables,the counter,the sofa

antique corner and etc.This whole thing was the idea of 

Mrs Bhaizurah and her son.It looks unique and 

attractive.It feels like a home.

(SANGKAYA) GROUP'S OPINION ABOUT THE SHOP

We had tried the coconut ice-cream.It taste was fairly mild, mainly because Sangkaya uses young coconut (less matured so the coconut taste has not fully ripen). There's also some coconut flesh underneath the 4 scoops of coconut ice cream. Likewise, coconut taste is very mild. Nonetheless, it is very refreshing a snack/ dessert on a scorching hot afternoon.Furthermore,they advocate no eggs, non-dairy ice cream,it is a plus point for those who do not consume dairy products. 

The environment of the shop also very nice.It is a very suitable place for us to chill out and hang out with friends.It is a great place to relax our mind.It is an air conditioned environment so we feel more comfortable and appealing.

We would definitely suggests everyone to try Sangkaya Ice-cream especially in Kelana Jaya outlet as thy will be carrying out festival promotions soon.It is definitely worth the money and time!

Coconut, a local fruit which everyone is familiar with.We use
coconut a lot in our daily life, from cooking to some handy 
tools that made of different parts of coconut or coconut tree.
It is such a super fruit where can be so healthy, tasty and functional. However, many do not realize the usefulness of coconut

The main product here is the coconut ice-cream.It’s basically the typical Thai style coconut ice cream where you can add your own condiments. Corn, cornflakes, roasted nuts, coconut strips. Or have it plain. I had mine with the roasted nuts and coconut strips and it comes with 4 scoops of ice creams in it. The coconut ice cream is not really creamy, something like gelato but stronger in flavours. Rest assured one is definitely not enough!The young coconut which is used in this cafe is freshly imported from Thailand.This is to ensure the traditional taste of the ice-cream preserved.

This recipe of Sankaya Is originally from Thailand.There were a husband and wife who came up with this recipe based on Sankaya from Thailand.They changed slightly the recipe than Thailand according to our Malaysians preferences.Thailand Sankaya is extremely sweet and Thailand people prefers it in that way while in Malaysia most of us prefer a moderate sweet as most of them are concerned about their health..The Sankaya was launched in Klang Valley for the first time and it’s been a pioneer café of Sankaya now,


The coconut ice cream is freshly made daily in a small batches with the best quality of coconuts from Thailand. With the aim of being the coconut ambassador, the main item in Sangkaya is coconut ice cream, available as “signature”, “cup” and “cone”. Besides that, to fully utilize the coconut, coconut shake  and fresh coconut water are also available in some of the outlets

Sangkaya is the new food sensation which is very popular on Instagram/ social media. It has various branches namely, SS15, Uptown Damansara, Ampang Point,Kelana Jaya, Jalan Alor Bukit Bintang and even at Jonker Street, Malacca. But we are going to focus mainly on Sankaya SS15.

Sangkaya is named after the co-founder of this unique company, Sangrida Kaya who is an international F&B entrepreneur. Besides that, John the founder of Sankaya would like the company to carry the real Asian image where the name Sangkaya sounded very Malaysian. It is also with another hidden meaning where in Chinese, Sangkaya actually means a person who is rich. Looking at how they named the company has shown clearly that the founders have put their heart and soul into everything that they are doing, same goes to their products.


Sankaya Kelana Jaya is one of the newest branch. They opened up last year (2015) around September. This branch had been taken over by Mr. Albert K K Tung this year (2016) around March. Sankaya been in the business industry for almost 3 years. Sangkaya has now available in 9 different locations, 7 in Klang Valley and 2 in Malacca. It was all begins on the Valentine’s Day one year back. The team tested the market in Jalan Alor and of course the response was good. They were first known as the Alor Coconut Ice Cream, where they were just a push cart kiosk in Jalan Alor and it remains. From this year March onwards, Mr.Albert K K Tung is the one who is taking care of this outlet together with his another branch in Cheras. Mr Albert K K Tung got into this business once he retired. He wanted to do something once he retired and the main reason why he got interested with this café is because of his liking towards ice-cream. He loves ice-cream all the while. Although he does not have experience in food and beverages industry, he wants to do something out from his liking. Since Mr.Albert K K Tung is a former of professional chartered accountant and lecturer in University Malaya, he have pretty good knowledge about marketing,finance,accounts and everything that a businessman needs to run a business. He said that “it will be a waste if I did not use or practice the knowledge and experience that I gained all these years”. And yeah that’s why he is the owner of Sankaya SS15 now.
